METHOD FOR DECOMPOSING ORGANIC HALIDE USING LIME FIRING FURNACE AND DECOMPOSITION DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decomposing organic halide using a lime firing furnace and a decomposition method, wherein these is no need for additional processes after a decomposition process, no corrosive products are produces as byproducts thus enabling a prevention of corrosion of the furnace, and quick lime produced by firing limestone has special properties on a digestion speed and a grain size thereof. SOLUTION: An organic halide decomposition device comprises a vertical lime firing furnace 11 which arranges limestone 14 therein and is provided with a heating device 17 around the furnace 11 and a first feed tube 24 which is mounted on the lower portion of the furnace for feeding chlorofluorocarbon 12 as organic halide. After arranging the line stone in the furnace 11, gas containing organic halide is fed to the furnace 11 by means of the first geed tube 24 and the heating device 17 is operated so as to make the temperature in the furnace 11 in a range of 800-1400 deg.C. In the furmace 11, the quick line produced by firing the lime stone 14 reacts with the fluorocarbon 12 or its decomposed product so that the fluorocarbon 12 can be decomposed.
