PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming device by which an image with high image quality is obtained by avoiding missing the thin lines or deformed thin lines in the case of resolution conversion. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a read processing section 10, digitally reading an image, a resolution conversion section 20 converting the resolution of the image data read by the read processing section 10, a write-processing section 30 conducting pulse width modulation based on image data subjected to resolution conversion by the resolution conversion section 20 and writing the result digitally and a means forming an image, based on the image written by the write-processing section 30. In this case, the resolution conversion section 20 divides the output pixels into a plurality of very small picture elements, so as to correspond to each pulse width resulting from pulse modulation by the write-processing section 30. When the resolution of the read processing section 10 is higher than the resolution of the write-processing section 30, so that each of the very small pixels is made corresponding to a plurality of read pixels read by the read processing section 10, thereby collecting image data of a plurality of the pixels into image data of a single pixel to conduct resolution conversion. |
