TRAVELLING CLAMP WITH REMOVABLE RAILS

A travelling clamp unit (20) of the type for extending and retracting a T-head clamping cylinder (10) into and out of a T-slot (5) of a press (4) has a main frame (30) which supports clamping cylinder drive means (8, 9, 13) and the clamping cylinder (10) when it is in a parked position in which it is retracted from the T-slot (5) of the press (4). The main frame (30) has rails (22, 24) secured to sidewalls (26, 28) of the main frame (30) which support the clamping cylinder T-head (6) in a parked position between the sidewalls (26, 28) and which are removable from the sidewalls (26, 28) so that the T-head (6) can be dropped out of the bottom end of the main frame (30) for removing the clamping cylinder (10) from the travelling clamp unit (20).
