Composting plant with tunnels or heaped rows

Composting plant includes a compost turning unit (4) travelling back and forth along the tunnel or heaped row. In an ante-building, there is a main extraction conveyor (3). A conveyor tripper unit (6) carries a reserve of the conveyor strand (11), which is spooled, in the ante-building. The conveyor tripper unit (6) is able to travel with the turning unit (4) e.g. inside the tunnel (1), where the conveyor strand can be lowered behind this unit. A support and idler (5) between turning unit and tripper unit guide the compost thrown up by the turning unit onto the conveying strand (7). Inside the ante-building (2), above the conveyor strand (7) and ahead of a spooling station for the strand, a conveying screw (8) preferably carries the compost off the strand and onto a conveyor (9). The width of the conveying strand (7) is equal to the clear width of the tunnel, or of the row. The roll (11) of the conveyor strand is carried by tangential rollers resting on the roll exterior, all carried on the tripper unit (6). The spooling shaft is extended beyond the end of the outer edge of the conveyor strand and supported on a step in each tunnel wall, where the connection to the tripper unit is effected.
