Bleach activators for peroxy compounds in detergents

Zwitterionic compounds of formula (I) are new. R1, R2 = 1-24C alkyl, 2-24C alkenyl, aryl, 1-4C alkyl-aryl or 1-4C alkoxy-(1-4C)-alkyl; or NR1R2 = 5-7 membered heterocycle optionally containing 1-2 O or NH (and optionally substituted by 1-5C alkyl, 1-5C alkoxy, 1-5C alkanoyl, phenyl, cyano, amino, cyanoamino, ammonium, CN, Cl or Br); and R3, R4 = H, 1-4C alkyl, 2-4C alkenyl, 1-4C alkoxy-(1-4C)-alkyl, phenyl or 1-3C alkyl-phenyl. Also claimed are washing or cleaning agents containing (A) 2-40 wt.% peroxy compound and (B) 0.1-20 wt.% (I) as bleach activators.
