A fixture creates a gas-tight seal between a vessel (1) and a pipe (2). The fixture consists of a pipe fitting (9) for the vessel, a concentric outer pipe (3) with pressure chamber (6) and an inlet (4) for gas under pressure, providing a gas-tight connection between the pipe and fitting. The pipe ends (10,11) and fitting project into the pressurised chamber. The space between the pipe ends is bridged by a flexible hose (5). If the chamber becomes pressurised, the elastic hose adopts a conformal shape along the inner contours of the vessel. The outer tube, tube and fittings have a circular cross-section. The join between the outer tube, tube or fittings is a detachable and sealed (8,8').
