The production of poly-tetramethylene etherglycol diesters of formula RCOO(CH2CH2CH2CH2-O)n-COR1 (I), in which R, R1 = alkyl groups or derivatives and n = 2-200, comprises polymerisation of THF in presence of carboxylic acid anhydride, using a neutral or weakly basic calcined kaolin (II) as polymerisation catalyst.
