Use of carbon dioxide snow to preserve frozen goods

Solid carbon dioxide is used to preserve temperature-sensitive products, preferably foods, in transit from vendor to individual consumer, over a limited interval. Also claimed is a suitable carrier bag (10) with a reservoir section (18) of sufficient permeability (35) to take variable quantities of loose carbon dioxide snow. Also claimed are: use of the carrier bag as described; preparing the filled bag and a device for making the carbon dioxide and filling the bag. These generally follow the description provided, and include suitable preferred actuators and microprocessor-based controls.
