The suction extractor (18) for the tool (10) with a duct or swarf producing head. The extractor has a hood (22) over the tool spindle and connected to a suction duct. The hood (22) is longitudinally movable in the direction of the worked surface (20). The hood can have a tube held by a helical pressure spring, or as an elastic shell. the hood can be made as two relatively movable telescopic sections.
