The invention concerns a device for stopping gas leakage and for warning the user about the presence of the leakage. It comprises a central pre-programmed computer unit (1), means for detecting the difference in gas flux between two points of a gas circuit and means for interrupting this flux in the said circuit. The said central computer unit commands the interruption of the gas flux in the circuit when the detecting means detect a difference in the gas flux between two points of the said circuit. This can be done in three different embodiments: the means for detecting the difference in the gas flux comprises at least a temperature sensor (6) located near the gas burner and a gas flow rate sensor (4); or the means for detecting the difference comprises at least a sensor (10) for controlling the opening of a gas flux in a burner and a temperature sensor (6) located near the said gas burner; or the means for detecting the difference comprises at least a gas flow rate sensor (4) at the circuit inlet and a gas flow rate sensor (16) at each of the said circuit outlet.
