The invention relates to a process for removal and/or reduction of disorders which are caused by the presence of free haemoglobin while determining an analyte in a sample by optical measurement. One or a plurality of peroxide compounds are added to the analytical reagent or a part thereof before measurement. The invention also relates to a reagent kit which contains at least one peroxide compound.
