Block copolymers used for making transparent or translucent films or moulded articles

Block copolymers (BC) prepared by reacting the following monomers at 100-160 deg C in the presence of radical initiators and N-oxyl radicals are new :(A) monomers chosen from (alpha-methyl)styrene, (meth)acrylonitrile, methyl methacrylate or maleic acid, forming blocks with a glass transition temperature (Tg) greater than 0 deg C ; and (B) monomers chosen from n-butyl acrylate, methyl acrylate or 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, forming blocks with a Tg less 0 deg C. Also claimed are (i) the preparation of (BC), (ii) transparent or translucent films or moulded articles comprising (BC), and (iii) the use of (BC) for the preparation of these films or articles.
