Casing for cards, especially for cheque-cards

The casing is made of two plastics sheet sections (1,2) which are welded together along their longitudinal edges. At one end-opening, the welded seam is cut away to enable withdrawing of the card. At least one of the weld-seams (3,4) joining the sheet sections together is widened towards the middle of the case, so as to form a clamping boss (5,6) bearing against the lengthwise edge of the card (8). Two such opposite bosses can be provided, and the sheet-sections can be of different lengths, that of the longer section being equal to the card length. One sheet-section at least can be transparent.
