In the first curved position, the flange (7) is curved, typically forming the top edge of a flowerpot (1), or the edge of a dish accommodating the latter. It is so joined to the item that it can be brought into a second free stable position on it. In the curved position the flange can bear on the inside against a supporting portion protruding from the pot etc. and halfway between the free edge and the edge joined to the pot. The joint to the latter can be formed by a portion of the flange which at the most is half the thickness of the remainder, and it can be arranged to hinge on the pot.
