NEW MATERIAL:A 3-phenoxycyclopentene derivative of formula I (X and Y are H or halogen). EXAMPLE:3-(2,4-Dibromo-6-iodophenoxy)cyclopentene derivative. USE:Useful as a raw material for synthesizing cyclopenta[b]benzofuran used as a synthetic intermediate of m-phenylene type PGI2 useful as a drug, especially anti-thrombogenic drug, anti-ulcer drug or anti-arteriosclerosis drug. The cyclopenta[b]benzofuran derivative is synthesized by treating the compound of formula I with a palladium complex in the presence of a phosphorus ligand and a base. PREPARATION:3-Chlorocyclopentene is reacted with a phenol derivative of formula II (M is sodium or potassium) in the presence of a phase transfer catalyst to provide the compound of formula I. |
