Laying foundation plate or continuous sleeper for high-speed railway

High-speed railway lines may be constructed by laying a continuous length of concrete paving (3), similar to that used for a concrete motorway. Blind bores may then be made in the concrete, while it is still green and soft, to accommodate the fastenings for the rails. The fastenings are especially pushed directly into place. The machine (1) for introducing the fastenings has a frame (2) with longitudinal girders (4) and may run on wheels (6) at the front and rear, rolling on rails (7) placed on either side of the concrete paving. The fastenings (13) may be shaped as inverted U-shaped staples and may be placed on a guide rail (11) ready for use. A machine (9) with a vibrator (14) pushes the ends of the staples down into the green concrete.
