The probe has at its distal end a hollow cylindrical body(10) presenting at its distal side an opening (22) which receives a stimulation electrode (16) which is axially mounted in the opening. The body and the electrode are fixed by an adhesive at the walls of the body and electrode. The internal wall of the body (10) is shaped so that when the electrode is fitted, a peripheral chamber (30) is formed between the internal walls (50,52) of the body (10) and the electrode (16). This chamber is an adhesive expansion chamber which is essentially sealed to the exterior with the exception of an injection channel (32) and an escape channel (36). This allows the chamber to be progressively filled by penetration of the adhesive under pressure via the injection channel (32) and the escape of any excess adhesive via the channel (36) one the filling is complete.
