FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: holder has mechanism for adjusting height of cutting tool center. Holder incorporates tool support intended for mounting on capstan of lathe or on mounting unit of machine, cutting head created with saddle for cutting tool, and mechanism for clamping cutting head on support. Support has axial bore in which inserted is tubular tail-piece of cutting head. Clamping mechanism is located in bore and has pair of locking members which are spreadable in radial direction. Locking members come into engagement with tail-piece of cutting head, and key coming into key slot made in tail-piece. Rotation of clamping mechanism changes orientation of cutting head so as to set height of cutting tool center. EFFECT: high efficiency. 13 cl, 7 dwgo
