METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR WATER TREATMENT

FIELD: water treatment practice; water purification by oxidation and adsorption of undissolved contaminants. SUBSTANCE: water to be treated is mixed with ozone-containing gas. In process of transporting gas/water mixture, ozone is dissolved in water and contaminants contained in water are oxidized by ozone. After transportation, undissolved components of contaminants are removed by adsorption which is conducted in ozone-containing gas medium. Ozone concentration in gas medium during adsorption corresponds to residual content of undissolved ozone in gas/water mixture before start of absorption and is equal to at least 0.2 mg ozone per liter of gas. Contaminants precipitated onto surface of solid adsorbent during adsorption become completely oxidized.
