FIELD: mechanical engineering; welding; multiple-cam devices used in fitting up pipeline butts. SUBSTANCE: outer centering device consists of sectors provided with centering drive cams. Fixing wedge mechanisms are arranged in sector butt joint area. Each wedge mechanism is made in form of projections 6, 7 with clamping frame 9 enclosing the projections. Projections 6, 7 are arranged in zone of butt joining of sectors 1, 2 and are engaged with mating inclined surfaces on frame 9 through movable supports 8 with flats. Movable supports 8 can be made either spherical or cylindrical. EFFECT: increased reliability of pipeline fixing, reduced labour input in manufacture. 3 cl, 2 dwgo
