PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative image recording material which makes it possible to make a plate directly from digital data and gives a recorded image having good film strength and printability. SOLUTION: A recording material is composed of (A) at least one kind of polymer having hydroxyaryl groups on the side chain, (B) a heat curing agent such as a phenol derivative preferably having a hydroxymethyl group or an alkoxymethyl group linked to two or more benzene rings in a molecule, (C) an oxygen generating agent which is decomposed by heating at 100 deg.C or above to generate oxygen, and (D) an infrared absorbing agent of dye or pigment which absorbs infrared rays of 720-1200nm wavelength. Preferable hydroxyaryl groups of side chain of the polymer (A) include hydroxyphenyl, dihydroxyphenyl, trihydroxyphenyl, tetrahydroxyphenyl, hydroxynaphthyl, and dihydroxynaphthyl group. |
