PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a space, and form a device in a compact size by mounting an oil pump on the shaft of an idler engaged with a valve cam driving chain, which is arranged between both right and left banks of a vertical V-type engine, and driving the oil pump by rotation of the idler. SOLUTION: A six cylinder V-type engine 7 of an outboard engine 1 is housed in a vertical system so as to arrange the axial core 13 of a crank shaft 52 in a nearly vertical direction, and a flywheel 12 is mounted coaxially with the crank shaft 52. A valve cam driving chain 60 is wound around the crank shaft 52 of a pulley 58 lower side for driving an alternator, and an idler 61 is engaged with the chain 60. An oil pump 50 is mounted on the lower end part of the idler 61 extending downward a vertical direction, and rotated through the idler 61 by rotation of the chain 60. Oil in an oil pan 23 is sucked, and forcibly fed to an engine side through a main oil passage 55. |
