PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the loss of elasticity even when large contact pressures are repeatedly applied to a mounting surface by cutting a mounting cylindrical inner surface of a bearing, and hardening the mounting cylindrical inner surface through rotary pressing using a relatively small roller. SOLUTION: A mounting shank 9 is rotated with a certain size of pressing tolerance by the NC program of a lathe, etc., and is finished into a bore with an appropriate interference for mounting a bearing. After machining of a bearing-mounting cylindrical inner surface 3 by the lathe is complete, a tool rest is turned and a pressure roller 4 is set in place of a cutting edge. The pressing size of the pressure roller 4 is controlled numerically, and its position is set so that the machined size of the bearing mounting cylindrical inner surface 3 of the roller 4 becomes an appropriate size for tightening the bearing. In this case the amount of pressing, determined experimentally, is a load small and stable enough to permit pressure rolling working. |
