PATTERNED PAPER AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject paper having a design emphasized in the three- dimensional effect of the uneven paper and in the differences of colors due to coloration by preferentially coloring the projected parts of the uneven paper. SOLUTION: This patterned paper has the maximum height (Rmax ) of >=10μm in the standard length of 25mm regulated in JIS B0601-1982 on the colored surface and is preferentially colored in the projected parts in an area 5-85% based on the whole area. The patterned paper is produced e.g. by a method comprising coating base paper having a surface unevenness difference of >=30μm with a coloring coating agent between a press roll and a coating roll.
