PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a working space and a visual access for surgeons. SOLUTION: An access device 10 has first and second blades 50 and 51 which are connected to an expansion member 12 to be separated from each other or drawn to each other and a sternum pad connected to the blades 50 and 51. An upper-level blade is rotatably connected to the expansion member 12 and when the upper-level blade is separated, it rises naturally. The alternative is that a vertically moving member is rotatably connected to the blade and the expansion member 12. The vertically moving member is used to vertically move the upper-level blade. As a result, a working space and a visual access of surgeons are increased for dissection of an artery in a pectoral region. A tissue retractor is connected to the blades and a soft tissue an incision can be segregated from the working region of the surgeons.
