FIELD: furniture construction. SUBSTANCE: adjusting device has part mounted for rocking relative to rigidly fixed part and power-loaded plates adapted for clamping and releasing of part. Plates are fixed without space on one part and in spaced relation for rotation on other part. Retaining force biases plate ends, fixed in spaced relation, to side inner wall of one part. Plates are released by at least one control lever, which reacts against retaining force. Plate ends fixed in spaced relation are suspended to bolt mounted in part susceptible to clamping force for horizontal displacement toward spring developing retaining force and in direction transverse to plates. Bolt is positioned on side faced to side wall and adapted to accept clamping force for sliding within pressing sleeve. Bolt has stop, which adjoins to pressing sleeve, when clamp is in its operating state. Other side of bolt is extending through wall adapted to accept clamping force. Bolt has support positioned in spaced relation to this wall and adapted to receive compression spring acting between bolt and wall to force bolt outside. Related control lever is mounted outside for pivoting on side wall. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 9 cl, 6 dwgt
