PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the expansion collapse pulverization generated by the water content absorption of electric furnace reduced slag and utilize effectively the slag for cement fine aggregates, slag fibers, cement clinkers and the like by heating electric furnace reduced slag at the specified temperature and quenching and solidifying the same. SOLUTION: In the manufacture of an inorganic material from electric furnace reduced slag, the electric furnace reduced slag 1 is introduced into an electric melting furnace 2, and power is applied to electrodes 3 to heat the slag 1 up to 1,500 deg.C or above, desirably 1,530 deg.C or above. During the heating, air is blown from a lance tube 4, as required. Isolated CaO and isolated MgO are reacted with a silica content or the like contained in the slug by heat, and the content is lowered to a large extent and also viscosity is lowered. After that, a slug molten material is quenched and solidified, and the vitrification of a glass content in the slag is accelerated by quenching to remove unstabilized components, and an inorganic material in which expansion collapse pulverization generated by the reaction with the water content is not formed is prepared.
|
