PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sufficiently durable fishline high in breaking strength and knot strength, abrasion resistance and dimensional stability, low in elongation at break, and useful for e.g. leisure fishing, by single covering of a multifilament yarn around a specific twisted multifilament. SOLUTION: This fishline is obtained by single cavering of a multifilament yarn as sheath yarn around a core yarn, i.e., a twisted multifilament with a twist multiplier K(=T×d<1/2> ) [T is the number of twists (t/cm); (d) is fineness (denier)] of 1,460-15,000 (pref. 2,000-8,000). It is preferable that the sheath yarn is put to covering in the reverse direction to the core yarn and at an angle of 60 deg. or less relatively to the axis of this fishline, and the sheath yarn is finer than the core yarn.
