PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new gene, a gene coding a specific amino acid sequence, useful for detecting expression in brain tissue, analyzing the structure and function of an expressed product, producing human protein, and diagnosing/ treating genepathy, brain diseases and neuropathy, etc., through analyzing the expressed product. SOLUTION: This gene, which is a new human M6 gene containing a base sequence coding an amino acid sequence of the formula, is useful for detecting expression in brain tissue, analyzing the structure and function of an expressed product, producing human protein coded thereby base on the genetic engineering, and the morbid state elucidation, diagnoses and treatments of involved diseases (e.g. genetic diseases, cancer, brain diseases and neuropathy such as dementia). This gene is obtained by the following process: using a mRNA extracted from human fetal brain tissue, a cDNA library is constructed by conventional means; and using a DNA sequence chemically synthesized based on the information about the gene as probe, the cDNA library is screened. |
