<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the flexural rigidity, the collapse rigidly and the weight of a shaft upper end part to desired levels by forming a golf club shaft with a metallic foil wound around the partial external surface of a shaft body over a zone from the lengthwise central part thereof to the terminal area of the upper end part. SOLUTION: A golf club has a clubhead 1, a shaft 2 and a grip 3, and the shaft 2 has the grip 3 fixed to the external surface of the upper end part 11 thereof. Also, the shaft 2 is made of an inner layer 6, and intermediate layer 7 and an outer layer 8, and each of the layers 6 to 8 is formed out of thermo-setting resin. In this case, a metallic foil 9 is wound around and secured to the partial external surface of the shaft body 4 of the shaft 2 over a zone from the lengthwise center thereof to the terminal area of the upper end part 11. Furthermore, the metallic foil 9 is made of stainless steel, aluminum or the like, and laminated and fixed to the external surface of the shaft body 4 via a base layer 12. Also, the external surface of the metallic foil 9 is covered with a protective layer 13 containing thermo-setting resin.</p> |
