PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-soluble temper rolling fluid excellent in rust prevention properties by incorporating an amine carboxylate which is liq. or amorphous at normal temp. and is prepd. by the equimolar reaction of a carboxylic acid and an alkanolamine into the same. SOLUTION: A carboxylic acid selected from among a 2-4C aliph. satd. hydroxymonocarboxylic acid (e.g. glycolic acid), a 4-12C aliph. satd. dicarboxylic acid (e.g. adipic acid), a 4-7C aliph. unsatd. dicarboxylic acid (e.g. acetylenedicarboxylic acid), an arom. dicarboxylic acid (e.g. phthalic acid), a cyclohexanecarboxylic acid (e.g. cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylic acid), a heterocyclic monocarboxylic acid (e.g. nicotinic acid), etc., is used here. The acid is reacted with an equimolar or slightly excess amt. of an alkanolamine selected from among monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, etc., to give an amine carboxylate which is liq. or amorphous at normal temp. The amine carboxylate is dissolved in a specified amt. of water contg. about 0.1-5wt.% nonionic surfactant (e.g. polyoxyethylene glycol), thus giving a temper rolling fluid.
|
