<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermal printing head for printing data with conversion when printing data with a second printing density, which is lower than a first printing density are inputted by providing a data converting means for converting printing data with the second printing density to printing data with the first printing density. SOLUTION: In a thermal printing head, heat generating dots are arranged such that printing with a 300dpi density can be conducted. When printing data of 200dpi are inputted, printing data for two lines are stored in a memory 20 such as a shift resistor. The printing data for two lines are divided into 2×2 matrix data d1 , d2 , d3 ..., and the matrix data are converted successively to 3×3 matrix data D1 , D2 , D3 ... according to a certain rule so as to be stored in another memory. According to the 300dpi printing data, the heat generating dots are driven.</p> |
