PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously produce foam reduced in the irregularity of thickness accuracy or wt. accuracy by falsely subjecting a foamable thermoplastic resin sheet to unidimenslonal foaming along a thickness direction. SOLUTION: A foamable thermoplastic resin sheet 26 wherein foamable thermoplastic resin granules are almost uniformly arranged in a planar state and integrally connected through a foamable thermoplastic resin membrane is supplied to the gap between endless feed belts 21, 22 and heated to a decomposition temp. of a foaming agent or higher by a heating device 27 while fed under pressure to be foamed and subsequently cooled by a cooling apparatus 28 to obtain foam.
