PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foamed polyurethane elastomer compsn. which is excellent in the storage stability of its prepolymer and has a low compression set and a sufficient compression strength by combining a specific prepolymer based on 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate with a blowing agent component contg. water. SOLUTION: This compsn. is obtd. by combining an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer obtd. by reacting 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate with a polyester polyol having an average functionality of 2.1-2.4 with a blowing agent component comprising water, a foam stabilizer, and a catalyst. Pref. the prepolymer is prepd. in an equivalent ratio of NCO to OH of 1.6-5.0. The density of the resultant foamed polyurethane elastomer is pref. 0.3-0.7g/cm<3> . |
