PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hematopoietic stem cell concentrating material capable of selectively concentrating a hematopoietic stem cell from a cell group at a medical spot safely, inexpensively and simply in a recovery ratio of a practical level and to provide both a concentrating filter and a concentrating method. SOLUTION: This hematopoietic stem concentrating material comprises a fiber lump having >=1.0μm and <=10.0μm average fiber diameter. This hematopoietic stem cell concentrating filter obtained by packing the fiber lump having >=1.0μm and <=10.0μm average fiber diameter to a container having a liquid inlet and a liquid outlet. This method for concentrating a hematopoietic steam cell comprises preparing a cell solution so as to give the ratio of the number of the whole treated leukocytes of the cell solution to the fiber surface area of the filter packed with the fiber lump of >=1×10<6> and <=2×10<8> leucocytes/m<2> , introducing the cell solution to the filter, and then injecting a washing liquid to the filter and recovering a hematopoietic stem cell.
