PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain cast-coated paper having excellent printing suitability such as white paper whiteness and printing gloss (ink gloss) and capable of being produced in high efficiency. SOLUTION: This cast-coated paper is produced by coating a support with a coating composition consisting mainly of pigments and an adhesive and subsequently bringing the formed coating layer into press contact into a heated mirror surface drum during the state of the wet coating layer to finish the coating layer. Therein, kaolin having the following particle distribution: (a) 98-100wt.% of particles having smaller diameters than 20μm, (b) 80-95wt.% of particles having smaller diameters than 2μm, (c) 60-85wt.% of particles having smaller diameters than 1μm, and (b) 10-30wt.% of particles having smaller diameters than 0.2μm is especially added in an amount of 30-100wt.% based on the whole pigments as a pigment to the coating layer.
