PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance safety by installing a fuse melting at the burning temp. of a candle at a certain position inside the main body of a candle and by installing, on a candlestick, a detecting means for detecting the breaking of the fuse and a warning means for informing the breaking. SOLUTION: A candle 1 having a wick at its center is erected on a pin 7 in a saucer 8 of a candlestick 6, and a male connector 5 is connected to a female connector 9 of the candlestick. A power source is turned on by operating a power source switch 10, lighting the wick of the candle 6. The candle 1 becomes shorter with time due to the burning of wax and the wick. When the burning reaches the position of a fuse 3 which is a thin conductive wire with a thickness of severalμm to several tens ofμm and has been buried at a specified position in the candle 6, the fuse 3 is melted and broken by the heat of combustion of wax. When the fuse 3 is broken, a detecting means detects the breaking of the fuse 3 and outputs a drive signal to operate a buzzar to cause it to continuously resound and warn against an unusual situation. Thus, a fan built in the candle 1 is operated to blow air and put out fire.
