PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain subject anthranilic acid compounds in high yields, useful as an intermediate of medicine by adding a specific compound such as a metal compound. SOLUTION: The subject anthranilic acid (e.g. 4-chloroanthranilic acid) is obtained by carrying out the reaction of 2-chlorobenzoic acid and aqueous ammonium in the presence of a copper compound. The production contains one or more of the following four processes, the process 1) adding a reaction promoter (e.g. sodium sulfide). 2) raising the reaction temperature to 40-90 deg.C for 1-20 hours making the conversion to 50-95% then keeping the reaction mixture at 91-140 deg.C for 1-10 hours to complete the reaction. 3) agitating, cooling to allow the ammonium salt of anthranilic acid to deposit after the reaction. 4) the crude anthranilic acids obtained by acid out, is washed with hot water- alcohol (e.g. methanol) in the presence of hydrazine. |
