PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger having a satisfactory heat exchange efficiency by designing with high pressure resistance and easily removing dirt at any of a body shell and a heat transfer tube. SOLUTION: A partition chamber 20 is mounted at an open side end of a body shell 18 formed in a container state via a tube plate 19. A bypass tube 23 of a heat insulation structure having a loose header 26 is provided at one end passed through the chamber 20 and the tube 19 and extended to the vicinity of a closed side end in the shell 18. The header 26 is coupled to the plate 19 via a plurality of heat transfer tubes 27 to communicate the header 26 with the chamber 20. A primary fluid outlet nozzle 29 is provided at the chamber 20, and a primary fluid outlet nozzle 30 is provided at the other end of the tube 23. A secondary fluid inlet nozzle 31 is provided at a closed side of the shell 18, and a secondary fluid outlet nozzle 32 is provided at an open side of the shell 18. Thus, the tubes 27 can shrink irrespective of the thermal expansion of the shell 18 side. Since the tubes 27 can be taken out together with the plate 19, its dirt can be cleaned.
