The wall has two fabric sections (1, 2) made of a synthetic material such as polyester, polyamide, aramid or carbon fibre. The walls are joined by a number of linking threads (3) which are interlaced with the warp and the weft threads of the fabric. Along the edge is a band of fabric (5) forming a watertight, inflatable wall. The band of fabric is slightly higher than the height of the joining threads.The outside of the fabric sections is coated with an elastomer or rubber coating. There are a number of openings on the upper and lower sides for inflating the wall. The connections (7, 8) are joined by a flexible tube. The side wall has bands of flexible foam stuck to the sides. A number of inflatable walls, including one of smaller diameter, may be used together to measure how watertight a joint is.
