PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compatibly realize display by the increase of the number of colors for a color picture and many picture elements with high resolution for a black- and-white image. SOLUTION: A color display means 12 displays the color image by making the aggregation of the plural display elements of a liquid crystal panel 16 correspond to one color picture element data, for example, by arranging plural sets of combination of color components RGB as one color picture element 1. A black-and-white display means 14 displays the black-and-white image by using a black-and-white picture element 2 where plural display elements which become white by the synthesis of the color components RGB correspond to the black- and-white picture element 3 corresponding to the display element for white out of plural display elements constituting the color picture element 1. |
