<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve communication quality and to make resending control easy by suppressing cell discarding at multiplexing process time in case of convergence when data are multiplexed at each predetermined information block unit for asynchronous transfer mode transmission. SOLUTION: A discarded cell decision part 5 decides bit information showing the priority of data in cells, i.e., CLP through a CLP decision window and uses it as a judgement material for cell discarding. Further, a cell discarding control part 6 actually discards object cells decided on the basis of the decision result of the discarded cell decision part 5 and also has a function for judging whether or not FIFO buffer memories 2a and 2b are full, thereby performing a cell discarding process when the buffers are full. Then a multiplexing 7 outputs one of cells stored in the memories 3a and 3b including cell buffers selectively to a transmission line.</p> |
