PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a uniform contact of a regulating member, without any vibration and to form an image not having density unevenness by making the regulating member composed of a supporting body of a rigid body and a soft elastic member attached to the top end of the supporting body and allowing the end part of a soft elastic member to contact with a developer carrier. SOLUTION: The regulating member 4 is composed of the soft elastic member 42 attached to the top end of the supporting body 41 and brought into contact with the developer carrier 2 by a press-contact force applying means 43 attached to the other end of the supporting body 41 across a supporting point 44. As the soft elastic member 42, an elastic material such as natural rubber and urethane rubber can be used. By such a constitution, a required wedge-shaped space for infiltrating a developer 5 into the contact part of the regulating member 4 with the developer carrier 2 is stably secured so that the quantity of the developer 5 on the developer carrier 2 is prevented from being uneven in the longitudinal direction of the developer carrier 2 or the generation of filming, that is, a failure in carrying caused by the sticking of toner to the developer carrier 2 and the regulating member 4 can be prevented as well. |
