PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a harmonic component from being superposed on an input current by applying a high frequency wave generated by a power amplifying circuit to a transformer set in a power source line through a capacitor. SOLUTION: The output Vout of a power amplifying circuit generates a rectangular voltage, and this is supplied to a power resonance circuit 3, by which a high voltage is generated to light an electrodeless lamp 1. When this voltage out is supplied to a transformer 8 through a capacitor 10, the reactance of c-d side of the transformer and the capacitor 10 are resonantly operated, and a high frequency voltage generated between c-d generates a high frequency voltage between a-b of the transformer 8 by the transformer action. Therefore, the voltage V(8-b) in a point (b) on the transformer output side is vibrated between the voltage V(14) of a smoothing capacitor 14 and the voltage of a common line, a current is carried between a-b of the transformer 8 and stored, and when the V(8-b) becomes the smoothing voltage V(14), an energy is carried into the smoothing capacitor 14 to suppress the generation of harmonic current. |
