发明名称 FLATTENING AND ORIENTATION CONTROL FILM FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to obtain a liquid crystal element which is lessened in unequal display and has high image quality by using specific imide ring-contg. org. molecules for the flattening and oriented films of orientation control layers holding a liquid crystal compsn., thereby increasing the allowance in a production process. SOLUTION: Wire-shaped electrodes 4, 1 are formed on the inner side of a pair of substrates 7, 7 and the liquid crystal compsn. is held between the substrates on both sides or one side of the flattening and orientation control films 5 of the substrate surfaces. The bar-shaped liquid crystal molecules 6 are subjected to orientation control toward a direction 10 by some angle in the longitudinal direction of the electrodes 4, 1 on the boundaries of both substrates by integration with the control films 5 and attain the state that the high polymers uniformly face the direction within the liquid crystal layer at the time of non-impression of an electric field. The film thickness of the single layer of the control films 5 is >=0.5μm. The imide ring-contg. org. high polymers having a weight average mol.wt. of <=20,000 and further, the org. high polymers having light transmittance of >=90% in a range of a wavelenght 400 to 800nm, a resin component concn. of >=15wt.% and varnish viscosity of <=50mPa.s are used for the orientation control films.
