PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply white balance to a display video image of a PDP(plasma display panel) in an entire luminance range from a low luminance to a high luminance. SOLUTION: A setting section 9 is used to input black level and gain adjustment values of R, G, B video signals and they are stored in a storage section 10. The R, G, B video signals from terminals 1R, 1G, 1B are inputted to a black level adjustment section 2 and black levels of each signal are arranged to the same level based on data read out of the storage section 10 and the result is inputted to A/D converter sections 3R, 3G, 3B, in which the analog video signals are converted into digital signals, a pixel conversion circuit 4 is used to convert the digital signals into a pixel number corresponding to a display pixel number on a PDP 8, a gamma correction section 5 applies inverse gamma correction to the pixel number, gain adjustment sections 6R, 6G, 6B adjust the gain of the video signal of each color based on the signal from a control section and a PDP drive section 7 generates a signal to drive the PDP 8 based on the signal to drive the PDP 8 and the video image with well white balance is displayed on the PDP 8 for the entire range from a low luminance to a high luminance. |
