<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely produce the state of an original by detecting a luminance group whose frequency value is less than a first frequency value on a low luminance-side in a histogram, making it as a highlight point and generating a gradation transformation table based on the highlight point. SOLUTION: A CPU inputs a picture by pre-scanning in accordance with a program in a ROM. An area obtained by reducing the picture to 90% on the upper/lower/right/left parts of the inputted picture is made. The resolution of the picture input is set in accordance with the size of the picture input area. When it is large, resolution is set to be low. The CPU generates the histogram from picture data. The CPU searches the place of a luminance value A where luminance H1 in the histogram goes to a low luminance-side and frequency becomes under a valve (a). Picture is inputted to the plain part of a negative film and luminance H1 is given. If a value where a frequency value exceeds a value (b) exists, it is set to be a default value. When the frequency value is under (c), it is set to be the highlight point H. The negative gradation transformation table is generated by using the highlight point.</p> |
