Formed load firing detection method for use in monitoring state of mine field

The method utilises a remote electromagnetic field detector (7) measuring the field generated by the shaped charge in exploding. The period deadening characteristics of the firing response are measured, and compared to a reference value in a memory store. The maximum amplitude of the signal response is also measured and compared to a memory store value, allowing evaluation of the firing distance and time of firing of the explosive charge.
