PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the reflection of elastic waves at the boundary of a substrate and/or optical fiber and a fixing member or in this fixing member by gelatinizing a sol liquid which uses metal alkoxide as a raw material and joining the optical fiber onto the other main surface of a second electrode or the substrate. SOLUTION: The sol liquid formed by using the metal alkoxide as the raw material is prepd. and is gelatinized to form an oxidized film, by which the substrate and the optical fiber are joined. Namely, the lower electrode is formed on the one main surface of the quartz glass substrate and a piezoelectric thin film is formed thereon. Further, the upper electrode is formed thereon. Next, the sol soln. is applied at the prescribed part corresponding to the other main surface region of the substrate. The single mode optical fiber exposed with a clad layer is arranged at this part and this optical fiber is pressed from above and the gel soln. is gelatinized. Moisture and alcohol are then removed and the optical fiber is joined to the substrate. Finally, the joint part is molded with an epoxy resin to form an elastic wave absorptive layer, by which the joint part is reinforced. |
