<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of system down due to the use of a battery of which remaining capacity is small without depending upon a CPU and software for driving the CPU by latching a signal indicating the execution of suspending processing due to the voltage drop of the battery and suppressing the start of a personal computer when an AC adaptor is not connected or the battery is not substituted. SOLUTION: In the method for managing the start of the personal computer to be driven by a battery 1, output voltage is compared with reference voltage by a voltage comparing part 4 to detect the voltage drop of the battery 1, suspending processing due to the voltage drop is recognized and a latch 6 is set up. When an AC adaptor 2 is not connected and the battery 1 also is not substituted, the start of the personal computer is suppressed, and when the adaptor 2 is connected or the battery 1 is substituted, the latch 6 is reset to release the suppression of the start.</p> |
